ABOUT NATASHA

Fourth-Generation Alaskan. Proven Leader.

Natasha von Imhof headshot

Natasha von Imhof is a fourth-generation Alaskan, and was born and raised in Anchorage. For her, Anchorage isn't just home - it's where she and her husband Rudi chose to raise their family, and where their children have chosen to build their own lives.

If you spend time in the Chugach Mountains or at Kincaid Park, you've likely seen Natasha and her family there. The mountains and trails are a big part of why she loves our city.

With a background as a business owner, financial analyst, and former state senator, Natasha brings a data-driven, results-oriented approach to leadership. She is focused on making Anchorage vibrant and competitive, where outside businesses will invest, entrepreneurs can succeed, and every Alaskan has a path to a good-paying job. Natasha believes Anchorage must create real opportunity and a high quality of life that gives young people a reason to stay and build their futures here.

Anchorage needs a clear vision and the leadership to make it happen. Natasha von Imhof is ready to get to work to build the city we all know is possible.

Platform

The Issues

Anchorage has spent years managing homelessness instead of solving it. People cycle between the streets, the ER, and jail with no real path out. Natasha will enforce the law, back APD, and require real treatment — not just shelter — so we finally break the cycle.

  • Enforce public camping, intoxication, and nuisance laws — no exceptions
  • Give APD the authority, tools, and backing to act and make referrals
  • Require treatment and stabilization, with structured facilities that provide a real path back to self-sufficiency

Business & Jobs

Anchorage has a strategic location on the globe and access to natural resources, but we're not turning that into jobs or opportunity. Natasha will focus on real economic growth so entrepreneurs and businesses invest here and people will want to stay and lay down roots.

  • Support our state economy across tourism, resource development, transportation, global defense, energy, and professional services
  • Keep more business activity in Anchorage by bringing consulting, finance, and corporate work back from the Lower 48
  • Support key economic drivers like the Port, airport, military (JBER), and Native corporations
  • Modernize city systems and remove barriers so Anchorage is faster, more competitive, and open for business

Housing

Housing is out of reach for young people and families, and that's driving them out of Anchorage. Slow permitting, rising costs, and a lack of developable land have stalled construction at exactly the wrong time. Building more housing isn't just a quality-of-life issue — it's an economic one.

  • Modernize the permitting process with fast-track approvals and better use of technology
  • Open and unlock land for development by investing in roads, utilities and infrastructure
  • Offer incentives to spur housing construction and get projects off the ground

Prioritize Spending

The city budget keeps growing — even as Anchorage loses people. Natasha will focus spending and make sure every dollar is working for residents.

  • Focus revenues toward infrastructure, public safety, and attracting economic growth
  • Sell under-used city assets and put that money to work
  • Partner with private investment to stretch public dollars further and deliver real projects

Education

Anchorage School District is running tens of millions in the red by trying to be all things to all people. Natasha will push the district to focus on what matters most: reading by 3rd grade, algebra by 8th, strong science and social studies, and keeping arts and sports.

  • High-dosage tutoring in reading and math for K–5, including after-school and summer support
  • Invest in teacher training, mentoring, and accountability to improve classroom outcomes
  • Use technology to personalize learning so every student gets targeted support
